That's exactly backwards. In matters where it is difficult for even experts to get right, it is more important to call out those in power who seek to force their uneducated opinions on others. Not all ignorance is equal. It's not like scientists are being overwhelmed by requests from policy makers who are eager to make the most correct decisions possible. The reality is often the opposite, with politicians actively suppressing evidence that doesn't agree with the interests of their wealthy donors.
