Drupal 7: More of the Same
As I have written before, Drupal 6 isn't so hot from a technical perspective. It's easy-sweet when everything works, but it breaks hard. Whatever their development process is, it's just plain wrong.
I was hoping Drupal 7 would fix that, and maybe at the same time address the whole annoying update/upgrade process. Nope. Still too much manual screwing around to replace files. Still generating obtuse errors with the database script. Revert, revert, revert!
So with no easy upgrade path, I start to look for a migration path to another content management system. Suggestions? Or perhaps I should just whip up something of my own with Rails. I'm a man of modest needs, after all, and all these blogging systems seem to have way more overhead than any one person needs.
